Manufacturer Description

Diary tells of an epic road trip starting June 18th 1930. The diary tells about all the things 14 year old Verna's family encountered on their trip from Oklahoma City to Garden of the Gods, Pike’s Peak, Royal Gorge, Canada, Yellowstone National Park, Glacier National Park, Santa Fe and their return to Oklahoma City. I have edited the diary in a way that retains the way Verna wrote, including her spelling, grammar and voice. I even left in statements that wouldn’t be politically correct these days. I found this diary fascinating, and it was a waste to have it in my book shelf with no one learning from it, so I wanted to share it with others. I never realized that traveling in 1930 was so different. It was also comforting that a lot of the sites Verna saw haven’t changed that much.
